Do Your Windows Meet The Federal Stimulus Requirements?

Win-Dor has been asked this questions many, many times over the past month and the answer is YES! We have refined our manufacturing process to include Argon gas to meet the Federal requirements of .30 U-Factor and .30 SHGC.

It is important to ask a prospective window company whether or not they meet the requirements. Without it, you will not be eligible for the Federal tax credit. We believe in transparancy here at Win-Dor and will be happy to provide with this information. We also would like to extend an invitiation to our past and potential customers to come down to our manufacturing facility to see the process for yourself.

One item to note is that Win-Dor manufacturers its products with only the best available components in the market. We do not “up-charge” for items such as composite foam super spacer or energy efficient glass.

Take advantage of our low price guarantee. We want to make you a part of the Win-Dor “family”.

Federal Stimulus Tax Credit

The new Federal Stiumlus signed into last month by President Obama allows for a tax credit of up to 30% of the purchase price of qualifying windows or $1500.

Win-Dor, based in Anaheim, CA manufacturers a full line of vinyl replacement windows and doors, most of which will meet or exceed the federal .30 SHGC / .30 U-Factor requirement under this stimulus plan. We have taken many steps to increase the energy efficiency of our product by adding Argon to our manufacturing process. These steps have helped us meet the new Federal requirements. But what is SHGC and U-Factor you may ask?

SHGC, or Solar Heat Gain Coefficient is a measurement of how well a window blocks heat from sunlight. The lower the SHGC factor or a window, the less solar heat it trasmits. Southern Californian’s come to appreciate this in the summer months when the sun is blazing down on their homes as a low SHGC will keep heat from entering your home, causing your air conditioner from running as much and lowering your electricity bill.

U-Factor is a measurement of how well a window prevents heat from escaping. In the winter months, this can help on those cold nights to keep your house insulated from the outside elements and keep your heater from having to run overtime.
